A Message from the Principal...

Evergreen Elementary – A Great Place to Grow!  We want to start by sending a big Cheetah Cheer to all of our families who participated alongside our Student Council in collecting items for our food drive.  We collected over 1,000 items which will go to families in need this holiday season.  We are extremely proud of our students for their efforts.  These types of community outreach activities help the children at Evergreen see the 7mindsets in real life and allows them to witness the powerful impact they can have on others. The November Mindset was Attitude of Gratitude and a highlight for us was our Veterans Day Assembly.  We were proud to host Veterans across multiple generations to be honored for their sacrifice and service.  Evergreen loves our Veterans and appreciates all that they do.

December’s focus will be the mindset “Live to Give”.  We will be teaching and learning the power of giving by stretching ourselves to make a difference in other’s lives. Students will feel what it is like to channel their talents to serve as inspiration for fellow members of the community. The impact we make on others is a gift that only requires us to do our very best while living our ultimate life.  As in the past, Evergreen will be collecting items to donate to families at Christmas.  It is our goal to make sure all children are able to have a gift-filled holiday surrounded by their family and loved ones. If you are or know of a family in need of holiday assistance, please contact us at (520)836-6694.  Any donations will be accepted at the Evergreen Front Office.

There are many school events planned for December.  On the 5th, our Winter Musical performance for 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students will take place at Casa Grande Middle School starting at 6:30 pm.  The Evergreen spelling bee will be held on December 20th,and the Holiday Meal is on the 21st. Guest are encouraged to attend to show support for our Evergreen Cheetahs. Also, students will be taking their mid-year Benchmark assessments this month.  These tests serve as a valuable tool for teachers to understand what their students know and help us to make decisions that will increase learning.  The assessments are based on the Arizona State Standards and will cover topics in ELA and Math.

Evergreen wishes all of our families a safe and fun-filled December and we look forward to the exciting opportunities our students have for learning.  As always, please contact us with any questions.

As always, please contact Evergreen’s front office at (520) 836-6694 with any questions about upcoming events and like our Facebook page @EvergreenCGESD for additional information.
